A wine produced with the Tinta del País grape variety (also known as Tempranillo), selected from bodega’s best parcels. It is then aged in specially selected oak barrels, sourced from France’s finest oak forests.
Grape Variety:
Tinta del País (aka Tinta Fino and Tempranillo)
Harvest and Production:
The handpicked grapes are harvested in boxes and then refrigerated at 5ºC. A double selection process of clusters, then berries. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak.
Ageing:
Following malolactic fermentation, it is aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak.
TASTING NOTES
Color:
A powerfully intense, red cherry color. Clean with a youthful appearance and rich viscous legs, quite evident on the glass.
Nose:
Very complex, initially, ripe black fruit in liquor reveals itself, evolving into balsamics. As the wine opens up, subtle shades of toast begin to emerge with light hints of cocoa. Very elegant indeed.
In the mouth:
A very powerful and fleshy wine with good structure. It has a very smooth and unctuous mouth feel. Flavors, akin to ripe black fruit in liquor, dried peaches with hints of cocoa and subtle smoky, toasted elements. The fruit perseveres over the oak notes. This wine is complex and has a very long finish and will improve in the bottle, over time.
